Bio

Theresa Shearer is Chief Executive of ENABLE Group. She leads 2,200 staff who support over 6,000 people who have a learning disability or additional support needs across Scotland, and their families.

Theresa is passionate about collaboration and over the course of her career has made a significant contribution to Scottish civil society. From leading the redesign of the fundraising regulatory framework to accelerating change through advocacy and policy campaigning, she has seen the potential for progress in partnerships across the private, public and third sectors.

An award-winning leader, recognised for her contribution to executive leadership, influence and impact across the UK, Theresa continues to combine her CEO role with voluntary positions supporting leadership and governance in the third sector. She is renowned for working with young people to help them realise their potential, including co-founding the ambitious Breaking Barriers programme with Scottish Power and Strathclyde University Business School.

Theresa is also a committed mentor with the First Minister’s First Mentor programme, working with women to build confidence and skills. A Chartered Fellow of the CIPD and a Strathclyde University and Harvard Business School alumna, Theresa regularly sits on cross-sector innovation judging panels selected by organisations including EY, the Institute of Directors and Strathclyde University.
