Michele “Mitch” Oliver is Global Corporate Brand & Purpose Director for Mars, Incorporated. She is also a Trustee of Stonewall and a Commissioner of the “Law Family Commission on Civil Society”.
In her role at Mars, Mitch leads the ‘Mars, Incorporated’ brand strategy globally. She is responsible for building the ‘Mars, Incorporated’ brand with 150,000 associates (what Mars calls employees), customers and stakeholders. She also plays a critical role in ensuring that Mars lives their purpose, ‘the world we want tomorrow starts with how we do business today,’ in their enterprise strategy, across all their marketing and beyond. Mitch also leads and focuses Mars’ efforts to drive their Make a Difference marketing. This includes leading their work ‘Inclusive Marketing’ and ‘Sustainable Marketing’ through building systemic organisational competence, whilst curating a portfolio of Make a Difference consumer brands to have a meaningful & measurable impact on the world.
With over 25 years’ experience in business, strategy and communications, Mitch joined Mars UK on the graduate program in 1995. Since then she has held a variety of roles at a local, regional and global level. She has sat on boards and run large teams of over 80 people and budgets of over $85M as well as across Global infrastructure.
Outside of work she is passionate about playing her role in a more diverse and inclusive society. She sits on the Board of Stonewall – playing a key role in supporting communications, and strategy. She has also been on the Board of The Marketing Society. She also volunteered as a Samaritan for a number of years.
In 2017 Mitch was been named as The Drum’s Marketer of the Year. In 2019 she was named Visionary Marketer of the year and in 2019 Mitch was awarded Marketing Society Leader of the Year.
